Ollie the TechSavvy Doodle’s Guide to Keeping Your Paws Safe Online

Hey there, tech-loving hoomans! I’m Ollie, your friendly neighborhood TechSavvy Doodle, and I’m here to chat about something super important: Security Awareness Training.

You might be wondering, “Why is a cute and fluffy dog talking about online security?” Well, hold on to your dog biscuits, because I’ve got some tails (pun intended) to share!

Imagine this: You’re sipping your morning coffee, I’m curling up next to you, and you’re checking your emails like it’s a walk in the park. Suddenly, an email pops up that smells a bit fishy. Time for some paw-sitive action – we’re gonna sniff out the phishing! Here are some tips that even your favorite four-legged, fur-tastic friend can understand:

  1. Check the Sender’s Scent: Just like I recognize familiar scents, you can check the sender’s email address. If it looks unfamiliar or off, please don’t fetch that email! Better safe than sorry, right?
  2. Inspect the Link Lure: Hover your mouse pointer (or paw, if you have one) over any links without clicking. If the web address doesn’t match what it should, it’s probably a phishing scam. Don’t let it trick you into chasing the wrong tennis ball!
  3. Watch Out for Urgent Requests: If the email sounds too urgent or asks for personal information (like your favorite toy), it’s probably a scam. Cybercrooks love to make things sound super important.
  4. Keep Your Personal Information Safe: Just like I wouldn’t tell strangers where I hide my squeaky toys, never share your personal info in emails. Your private stuff is as precious as my best chewy bone!
  5. Report Suspected Phishing: If you sniff out something phishy, please report it to your IT department or email provider. They’ll handle the cyber intruder, just like I alert you to squirrels in the backyard.

Now, I have a special treat for you. If you’re interested in learning more about staying safe online, training events, and staff awareness programs, all you have to do is reach out to my pals at PDS (that’s “Pawsitively Doggone Secure,” in case you were wondering) not really but they are awesome. They’ve got a whole pack of experts who can help you and your team become online security pros!

So, next time you spot an email that doesn’t quite smell right, just remember your favorite TechSavvy Doodle and his wise advice: “If in doubt, bark it out!” 🐾

Until we meet again, keep those cyber-tails wagging, and remember to contact PDS for all your training needs. Stay safe in the digital world, my friends! 🐶
